KEY PERSONNEL PROFILES
Dr. Michael A. V. Ward. President, Director and Founder of CEI, has been the visionary and driving force behind CEI’s 30 years of work in lean burn, and has managed the Company and directed most of its R&D work. Dr. Ward has over twenty patents in the fields of ignition and engine design, and has had papers published in plasma physics, electromagnetics, ignition and combustion, in several journals: the Journal of Applied Physics, Combustion and Flame, Journal of Microwave Power, the SAE, and others. Dr. Ward was awarded “Best Paper of the Year” in 1981 by the International Microwave Power Institute for his pioneering work on microwave stimulated combustion. His work has been featured in international magazines including The Economist, Harvard Magazine, Design News, Electronics World, Automotive News, and others. Most important, he has solved the “lean burn problem”, considered insoluble by the auto industry, in a low-cost way that can be applied to all IC engines. Since his stroke in 2004, Michael has met many challenges, including creating the Holy Grail Engine in 2009, as the world’s most efficient and powerful, low-cost engine, capable of alleviating global warming and climate change. Michael was born in Kampala, Uganda of Greek parents; went to Athens, Greece at age 10; to England for his high school; received the Bachelors and Masters in Physics in the U.S., and the Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University.
Elaine P. V. Ward. A past Director and founder, Elaine has been in charge of Administration, Communications, and has been a key Business Advisor. Elaine has experience in computer operations with a B.A. from Wellesley and an M.A. in Math from Tufts University.
Jerry Cohen, Esq. Jerry was partner in the law firm Perkins, Smith & Cohen, merged in Burns and Levinson, and has been Special Counsel and Patent Attorney for CEI since 1978. In 1982, he became Corporate Counsel for CEI, and works closely with Dr. Ward in its patent work.
Robert Lefevre. A Director and V.P. of Electronics, Bob runs R. Philips Technology, a custom designer and manufacturer of electronic products. Bob has been with CEI for two decades, with experience in electronics design and manufacturing. Bob has a BSEE degree from UNH.
Chuck Wisner. A Director and Business and Marketing Advisor, Chuck has worked with companies such as G.M., Chrysler, Shell Oil, Detroit Edison, etc., in team building.
Kostas Dinis. A Director and Marketing Advisor, Kosta has a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Htwe Naing. CEI’s Senior Electronics Tech for three years, Htwe has experience in electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, including automotive electronics, micro-controllers, engines, etc. Htwe has a B.S. in Applied Electronics from the University of Yangon.
Tom Mulrain. A part-time R&D machinist, Tom machines ignition coil parts, housings, ignitor mounts, spark plug parts, engine parts, and other precision machined parts.
Winfield Hill. An authority in electronics and co-author of the book "The Art of Electronics" with Prof. Paul Horowitz of Harvard. Win is Director of Electronic Engineering at Harvard.
Jon Andruk. The owner of Circle Performance Racing Engines, Jon is a highly skilled engine re-builder. He helped build CEI’s prototype engines.
Perry Paielli. An expert in Electronic Digital Fuel Injection control, Perry made special modi-fications to the DFI system which CEI had purchased for their lean burn engine on their test car which they tested on their Chassis Dynamometer and at an EPA recognized test facility.
Dan Tribble. A former VP for Champion, an expert in Spark Plug, design and development.
Dr. Fred Kern. A Founder, and until recently a Director. Fred has been a consultant to CEI in the past in Mechanical Engineering. Fred has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
David Breslau. A machinist and engine design engineer who worked for CEI many years ago.
