The most important patents are the ones on a 42 volt, coil-per-plug ignition issued in 2000, and two important ignition patents issued on February 20 and 27, 2007, based on the use of biasing magnets, and the derivation of the correct expression for the coil output voltage. Also, an improved halo-disk plug was also patented. An improvement was granted on January 23, 2007 on a dual-ignition, flow-coupling, 2-valve engine with versatile ignition timing of the two plugs. A variable compression ratio (VCR) patent was granted on January, 2008.
Dr. Michael Ward filed a patent in 2009 and filed two provisional patents in May and September, 2009, which were converted to a U.S. patent application filed on January 16, 2010. It is the “Perfected” 2-Stroke ICS Engine, also known as the Holy Grail Lean Burn Engine. The patents and patent applications are all filed in the U.S. Only the U.S. patent application, filed on January 16, 2010, is eligible for filing in foreign countries.
